08:00 - 18:00Reception Opening Hours
If you have a serious medical problem such as severe chest pain, severe bleeding or collapse please dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.
Appointments with the Doctor are available to book in advance for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons in Rhos only. Please phone the surgery or enquire at reception, appointments are available up to 6 weeks in advance. There are no appointments available to pre book for the Rhostyllen branch.
If you need to see a Doctor more urgently, then you should phone the surgery, at the earliest possible time, to arrange an appointment for that day. For urgent care you will either receive an appointment with the Doctor or Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP). Telephone consultations are also available however the time of the call can not be guaranteed, although it will be the same day and a face to face appointment may still be necessary depending on the condition.
Home Visits are for those who are housebound only. The Doctor can see many more patients in the surgery than at home. The Doctor or ANP may telephone you to assess if a visit is necessary.
The surgery opens at 8am and phone calls are placed in a queing system and answered as soon as the receptionist is able.
Appointments with the Nurses or Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) are all available in advance. Please note that sometimes the receptionist may enquire about the nature of the appointment as this allows allocation of the correct amount of time for the appointment. If you are unhappy about disclosing the reason for the appointment please simply state that it is for a private matter and your privacy will be respected. Our Practice Nurses are happy to take telephone calls from patients and aim to return your call as soon as possible but this is likely to be after morning surgery finishes after 12 midday.
Appointments with Midwives, Health Visitors and Community Nurses should be made directly and not via the Surgery. Phone numbers available on the ‘contact us’ page.
Please note, Rhostyllen Surgery is a branch surgery and has shorter opening hours.
